The Process
Getting your new build air tested, is simple
First simply contact us, book in a test date and send us the relevant information listed below.
Before the test we require from you
- Detailed plans to scale of the building being air tightness tested (This is so we can work out the envelope area of your building)
- Your building 'Design Air Permeability' from your SAP calculations
- The building to be air tightness tested must be fully finished
- During the construction of the dwelling, were Approved construction details used? (This can alter the amount of dwellings that may need to be tested on a larger site)
- Payment upfront must be made, to securing a air tightness test date.
On Site we will require from you
- A power supply
- All dwelling must be unoccupied when being tested.
Each air tightness test we carry out may vary in length, due to the different sizes of each indivdual dwellings. However, on average each test takes about 1 hour.
Once tested we will let you know on site if you have passed or failed.
If a dwelling has failed the air tightness, our engineer on site will help you locate the problem or problems with a smoke test (This is charged as a separate fee). Our trained staff will also be able to answer any relevant questions and give you information that you require.
